Ordinations at Lindisfarne in June 2009
During the Church's official retreat at the Community of Ss. Aidan and Hilda, Lindisfarne, from 23-27 June 2009 it has been agreed that the following ordinations will take place.

- Deacon David Upton CCP will be ordained to the Priesthood
- Br. Andy Hall CCP will be ordained to the Diaconate

Further details will follow nearer the date.

Ordination of Br. Robert Pieper CCP

Br. Robert is to be ordained to the Diaconate and Priesthood and will serve our developing mission in Arizona for the Companions of the Cross and Passion. We are pleased to report that by kind permission of Bishop Mark Elliott Newman, Bishop of the Diocese of Arizona of the Catholic Apostolic Church of Antioch, Bishop Jorge Rodriguez Eagar of the Church of Antioch will be the ordaining bishop at the ceremonies which will take place in Tempe, Arizona, USA. The dates for the ceremonies are 24 January 2009 (Diaconate) and Divine Mercy Sunday (the 2nd Sunday in Easter) for the Priesthood.

As well as our continued prayers for Br. Robert's ministry, we welcome this occasion of strengthening of our close bonds with the Church of Antioch, which is a sister church of the LCAC in mission.

Ordination of Br. Baruch Rabinowitz CCP
Br. Baruch has completed the requirements for ordination. He will be ordained by Mar Alexei to the minor orders on 30 December, the Diaconate on 31 December and then to the Priesthood at the Theosophical Society, Edinburgh, at 3pm on 1 January, 2009. All are welcome to this special Mass. Br. Baruch will serve as priest-in-charge of the mission of St Christopher of the Companions of the Cross and Passion in Germany.

Ministry in Oregon

The Revd. Fr. Christopher Sowers has resigned his ministry in the LCAC in order to enter a Roman Catholic monastery within the Benedictine charism. He has been granted Letters of Excardination. We pray for Fr. Christopher in his ongoing spiritual journey.

Along with this, the formal suspension of the Parish of All Saints and Angels Catholic Church, Portland, Oregon, where Fr. Christopher was priest-in-charge, has been agreed, and the resignation of its Underdeacon. Mrs Kay Ellen Krueger, accepted. It is hoped that at some future date the Church will resume mission activity in Oregon.

The position of Father-Custodian of the Order of Ave Maria, which was held by Fr. Christopher, will be suspended for the time being, with these responsibilities discharged by the Metropolitan.

The Revd. Bridget Wilson Hall receives the minor orders
Postulant Bridget Wilson Hall received the minor orders from Mar Alexei during the celebration of Mass at the Theosophical Society in Edinburgh. Bridget has been approved to proceed to preparation for receiving the Diaconate and Priesthood during 2009.

Bridget is a qualified teacher of Catholic theology at secondary school level.

Promotion of Pastor Dan Edmunds to Priest
Pastor Dan Edmunds has been promoted to the ministry of Priest in the Church.

Admission of Baruch Rabinowitz as a Postulant

Baruch Rabinowitz has been admitted as a Postulant to the Companions of the Cross and Passion. His background is extremely unusual in that he is a former rabbi who has served communities in his native Germany. Jewish spirituality is still an important spiritual influence on him, but his primary vocation is now within the Passionist charism. He maintains a personal website at www.judaic.de.

Bro. Baruch will travel to Scotland on completion of his educational prerequisites and will be ordained to the diaconate and priesthood over the New Year by Mar Alexei. We welcome him and pray for his onward journey.

Admission of the Revd. Raven S. Scott as Pastor for the CDM
The Revd. Raven S. Scott will be admitted to the ministry of Pastor for the Cross-Denominational Mission by Mgr. Adrian Glover at a service at 11am on 8 December at Chiswell United Reformed Church, Dorset. He is also a new member of the Religious Society of St. Simon. We pray for Pastor Raven's ministry.

Metropolitan appointed representative for the Order of Corporate Reunion in England
The Metropolitan Primate Mar Joannes is honoured to accept the office of Rector Pro-Provincial for Canterbury as representative for the Order of Corporate Reunion in England. He is responsible to OCR Universal Primate Archbishop Peter Paul Brennan. The office of Rector Pro-Provincial for Canterbury was previously held by the late Archbishop George Boyer and originally established in 1877 and held by Archbishop Frederick George Lee.

Fr. Dennis Donlon
Fr. Dennis Donlon CSC has been granted Letters of Excardination from the LCAC and the Companions of the Cross and Passion with effect from 27 November 2008. He leaves us in good standing and will remain a member of the ILCF. We pray for Fr. Dennis in this new chapter of his life.

Service of Enthronement and Subconditional Consecration
In a service at Golders Green Unitarian Church, London, the Metropolitan was officially enthroned as Archbishop of Great Britain of the Apostolic Episcopal Church and to his office in the LCAC by Archbishop Bertil Persson, Emeritus Primate of the Apostolic Episcopal Church, assisted by Archbishop Philip Lewis, Primate of the Ethiopian Coptic Orthodox Church, Archbishop Paget Mack of the Franciscan Order of St Benedict the Moor (representing AEC Primate Archbishop Francis Spataro), and Bishops Leila Boyer (Bishop Templar), Mar Andreas (LCAC) and Mar Alexei (LCAC).  The service followed the rite of the Apostolic Episcopal Church and the Mass was concelebrated.

The Metropolitan was also presented with the degree of Doctor of Divinity of St Ephrem's Institute of Eastern Church Studies in recognition of his "outstanding works on Church History". The degree was the last ever to be awarded by the Institute after its thirty-four years of activity. He was further admitted as a member of the Order of Corporate Reunion.

In addition, the bishops present at the service exchanged consecrations sub conditione as a gesture of unity between their churches. Archbishops Persson and Spataro (in absentia) were admitted as Knights Grand Cross of the Valiant Order of St John the Baptist, and Archbishops Persson, Spataro (in absentia), Mack and Lewis, and Mar Alexei, were presented with the degree of Doctor of Divinity jure dignitatis of European-American University.

Admission of Robert Pieper as Postulant
We welcome Robert Pieper as a Postulant in the LCAC. Robert will go forward to ordination to the diaconate and priesthood in 2009 as a member of the Companions of the Cross and Passion subject to completion of educational prerequisites. Robert is a former member of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and resides in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.

Revd. Louise Lombard admitted to the Order of Ave Maria
In a service at the Well Chapel, Suffolk, on 9 August, the Revd. Louise Lombard of The Young Rite was admitted a Senior Member of the Order of Ave Maria in a service conducted by the Metropolitan assisted by Mar Alexei. The candidate was invested with the badge and scapular of the Order during the service.

Sr. Magdalena OEF ordained Priest
In a service at the Well Chapel, Suffolk, on 9 August, Sr. Magdalena OEF was ordained by Bishop Charles Mugleston. The Metropolitan, Mar Andreas, Mar Alexei and Msgr. Glover of the LCAC all assisted at the ordination. We pray for Sr. Magdalena's future ministry.

Fr. Scott Shubert granted Faculties in the LCAC
Fr. Scott has been incardinated into the LCAC and granted Faculties as a Priest. He is based in Boulder, Colorado, USA, and was ordained priest by the late Bishop Martha Schultz in 2004. He formerly served with the New Order of Glastonbury.

Metropolitan appointed as official representative for the UK of the Apostolic Episcopal Church
Mar Joannes, Metropolitan of the LCAC, has been appointed as official representative for the UK of the Apostolic Episcopal Church by that church's Primate, Archbishop Francis C. Spataro.

This appointment marks the strong historic and present links between the LCAC and the AEC-Order of Corporate Reunion as conveyed through the Apostolic heritage of AEC Emeritus Primate Archbishop Bertil Persson.

Mar Joannes has said, "I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with the formal representation of the Apostolic Episcopal Church in the UK in succession to my distinguished predecessor Archbishop George Boyer of blessed memory. I pray that the Church may find my service worthy of the office to which I have been called."

AEC Emeritus Primate Archbishop Bertil Persson will visit the UK later in the year for a formal service of enthronement.

Bournemouth oratory moves
The Oratory of St Michael, under the care of Mgr. Adrian Glover, VG, has recently moved into new temporary accommodation.  More details about the move can be found here, along with the times of public services at the Oratory.

Induction of Mr Thomas Gayley as Cleric
Mr. Thomas Gayley of Montrose, Pennsylvania, has been inducted as a Cleric in the LCAC. He will serve under the supervision of Fr. Dan L. Edmunds. Mr. Gayley has further been welcomed as a Senior Member of the Order of Ave Maria.

As an individual with Down's Syndrome, Mr. Gayley is blazing a trail in his ministerial path. His admittance as Cleric in the LCAC follows the clear demonstration of his spiritual calling lived through a daily Rule over a period of time. We pray for God's blessing on his continued ministry.
